UKCA toy compliance records made simpler for 3D print sellers.

If you're selling 3D-printed toys in the UK, you're legally required to have a Technical File before your first sale — but nobody tells you how to build one. 3D CertHub walks you through every step in plain English, so you can sell with confidence knowing you've done it properly.

Common questions

Got questions?
We've got answers.

Is it really free? Do I need a credit card?
Completely free — the trial checks out at £0 and no card is ever charged or required at sign-up. You add it to your basket just like any other Shopify product, but the total is nil. We'll only ask for payment if you decide to continue after your first Technical File is complete.
What counts as "completing" a Technical File?
Your trial Technical File is considered complete when you've worked through all the required sections and produced a signed Declaration of Conformity for your product. That's the legal finish line — and it means you've done everything UK toy safety law requires for that toy. The app guides you to that point, step by step.
What happens when the trial ends?
Once your first Technical File is complete, the app switches to read-only mode. Your file is still there and fully accessible — you can view and print it whenever you need. To create new Technical Files or make changes, you choose a plan from inside the app. We'll show you the options when you reach that point.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes, completely. Once your trial is active, 3D CertHub works fully offline. Your compliance data is stored locally on your Windows PC — not sent to any server or cloud service — so you're always in control of it.
Can I use it on more than one computer?
One licence covers one machine — this needs to be clear from the start. If you ever need to move to a new PC, just get in touch and we'll help you sort it. Please be aware the licence is tied to a single Windows installation.

Frequently asked questions

What does CMYK mean and why does it matter?

CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) represents the four primary colours used in printing and colour reproduction. Testing across CMYK provides comprehensive safety validation because different pigments have different chemical compositions. Learn more about our CMYK colour selection methodology.

Why aren't all products certified in standard CMYK colours?

Not all manufacturers produce their filaments across the complete CMYK spectrum. When full CMYK certification isn't available, we select alternative colours that provide the broadest safety coverage based on pigment chemistry and common use cases. Read our detailed explanation of colour selection.
